Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Saint Patrick was English, but he was abducted and brought to Ireland as a slave when he was 16. He returned to England years later, became a priest, and went back to Ireland to teach the Irish people about Catholocism. Some say he used the 'shamrock' or a three-leaf clover to teach about the trinity in Catholic religion.
- He is celebrated every year on March 17th
- Today, Saint Patrick's Day is a celebration of Irish culture. We wear green, the national color of Ireland, and we color our food green. There are Saint Patrick's Day parades all over the world, where musicians play bagpipes and wear kilts. And we tell stories about leprechauns, little Irish elves who guard a pot of gold.
